I did a search here for Davis and no results were found. Anyone here have experience either first or second hand with him?

Many thanks in advance.

BTW, I am in FL and need a doc from there.
s2Bulbous,

I am also in need of a revision and was curious if you went through with it with Dr. Davis and if so how were your results? I have been wanting this for four years so any advice would be sooooooo appreciated!!

Smile Dr. Davis -- comments from any first hand clients? I need a great revision doc soon!

Hi again,

I really need some input from anyone who has seen a Davis revision first hand, or knows of any other excellent rhinoplasty revision specialists in south florida. The mixed reviews I'm hearing about Dr. Davis are killing me. I met with him and he spent a very long time answering all my questions, showing me pictures of patients with problems similar to mine (hanging columnella, crooked septum, some nostril collapse). He seemed confident he could make my nose look better, but I am not so bad off that I NEED a revision to function. My nose bothers me, but what would bother me more is if I end up worse off after a revision.

Please Please contact me if you know anything about Davis or can recommend another south florida plastic surgeon who is experienced. I don't want to fly all over the country and I think post op visits etc are an important part of the recovery process and that would be very difficult to accomplish having to have the surgery out of state.

I don't know what "Pm" ing is, but if that is a way to contact me directly I would welcome that as well. Pictures of your results would also be especially helpful.

He only does open revisions and the scars he did show me were barely noticable, but that is also a concern of mine. I also read a negative review that a patient who wanted their retracted alars addressed ended up with a columnella pushed up too much. He explained to me that I would need alar grafts (probably from septal cartiledge) to help my slightly collapsing nostrils, but that he would also need to raise my columnella slightly. I guess it does hang down a little bit, but I don't want to look like a completely different person when he is done with me. I just want my nostrils straighter and my nose a little more structured at the tip-- not so pointy. Is that a revision that is difficult? Please help me make a decision that could either make me super happy or even more self-conscious.

THanks in advance!!!

Robin,

I know you mentioned to another poster that you didn't know much about Dr. Davis, but you had said you had other recommendations for great revision rhinoplasty in the South Florida area? Could you message me with that info? I would really appreciate it! I met with Davis but I would only feel comfortable speaking with someone he has worked on who is satisfied, so I would be open to other doctors as well...

Default pastorek first hand knowledge?

Does anyone know of anyone who has used Pastorek for a revision? If so, did you like the results? He has no pics on his website and I don't want to schedule a consultation with him without some sort of patient feedback. I know he has a great reputation but some physical evidence of his work would be nice.

I'd still prefer a revision specialist in Florida of course. Has anyone heard of Dr. Steiger? He is young, but his pictures looked pretty good. He is close enough for a consult but Davis has more buzz about him. The thing is I really didn't love the computer generated images Davis made up for me of my nose. I know it is only a computer and not likely the end result, but while I liked his explanations for what needed to be done (alar rim grafts so the nostrils don't retract and sag, and a columnellar strut graft I think to slightly lengthen my nose), the pics didn't reflect well...

should I keep looking or dismiss the pics and go with Davis based on his knowledge and confidence?

I'd be willing to travel if I needed to, but only to the New York area...

Don't know enough about those candidates but this is not something to rush into. How about posting new threads about each of the other doctors to get opinions?

Posting new threads is a fabulous idea. I can give you recommendations via PM in NY. Please be patient, as I am very busy. It usually takes about 2-4 days for me to respond.

Heya Iawoman, I am on the same boat. I went to visit Dr. Davis about a month ago and I wasn't satisfied with the computer images he made for me. He narrowed the frontal view a lot and when I asked him about the hanging columella, he didn't really want to do anything about it. Same thing happened with his vision of my profile. This sucks because I too liked his explanations but he wasn't open to any suggestions.

Default florida revision specialists anyone?

I'm glad Newbie posted today because I was beginning to feel like no one else in Florida was hunting for a skilled surgeon who could instill confidence in me and also HEAR what I wanted accomplished.

I agree that Davis had his own ideas-- some of which I didn't agree with, and wasn't thrilled with his images of me. But his before and afters were for the most part impressive. It is tough! I probably wouldn't even go for a consult with someone who deemed himself "the nose king of miami".... yikes! Too much cheesy marketing!

Please, if anyone out there in South florida is thrilled with their rhinoplasty revision and would like to sing the praises of their doctor, we would love to hear about it!!!!

Itís very toughÖhonestly if I needed a revision he would be on my list of doctors to consider in FloridaÖbecause like you said from the pictures he showed, you can see some of the results are pretty amazing considering what the last doctor(s) left them looking like. That kind of thing freaks me the hell out because Iím going in as a primary and I donít want to need a revisionÖÖ. with all surgeries I understand there are risks involved but from what doctors have told me Iím a great candidate for an uncomplicated surgery. Iím not taking it for granted and go trusting it in any hands that could ruin that all together. Unlike others Iíve seen Davis will keep you over night and also talked about how he likes to take 3 hours to perform the surgery. Itís definitely refreshing to know he takes this seriously. Then again maybe thatís a common thing for revision doctors to do. Unfortunately, I donít think his methods are the best for my particular case and donít give results that perhaps most primaries are looking for. I wish he would have made an effort to be a little more receptive to work with me. *shrug*
