Hi there,

im attaching pictures, could someone please give an opinion...

im 11 days post septorhinoplasty, had a deviated septum corrected and removal of a hump, classic... its kinda hard for me to figure whether the crooked appearance of my nose
is due to uneven swelling, due to the fact that my surgeon couldnt straighten totally my nose (it didnt look very crooked externally) or if something is wrong.
last picture shows before.

Your before and after pics mirror a great deal of the same crookedness. Do you have before and after profile pics? Usually surgeons will tell you to wait until the swelling goes down, either due to their own error(s) or due to the sheer fact that swelling obviously makes valid post-op evaluations difficult to arrive upon.

The nose looked a bit crooked in the before picture. There can be uneven swelling if the doc has to do a lot on one side but not the other. For you I think there's more to it than that. It looks a little crooked.

Do you sleep on your back or side? Some doctors say it doesn't matter but I think it's better to sleep on your back as long as possible post op. That way gravity can't pull your healing nose to one side.

i sleep on my back, my head and shoulders as elevated as i can... i tape my nose to keep the stuff in place... i just wonder it looks like he didn't try to fix the crooked thing, well, in any ways, i guess i'll have to wait and see how it goes, however im pretty confident it wont change much.
it wasnt crooked much, i didnt think it would be impossible to fix that

well its fine for now, i just wanna be sure its not cartilage or bones or stuff falling apart, so i sent the pics to my surgeon and im now waiting for his answer..

It seems like the crooked structure from the pre-op photos mimicks the post-op photos, which concerns me, despite the possibility of swelling. I questioned the taping, because if you tape it too tight you could widen the bridge.

yes well honestly i think a big part of the swelling is gone on the upper part of my nose at least and when i touch the bridge on my right side (so, left on the pic) it doesnt feel very normal. at the point where the crooked starts, it feels very thin and going in like there was a hit on that part. while the other side is normal. it wasnt like that few days ago, or maybe it was but it was covered by swelling so i couldnt feel it. i dont know, if i touch gently my nose, it just doesnt feel right.. its supposed to be in place already no ?

I would see your plastic surgeon ASAP to get his opinion. If (and I'm only saying if) there is something wrong, at least have it documented in your medical record. If a revision is necessary, then the doctor's fee is supposed to be waived, if the outcome is unintended.

This may sound like an odd question to ask, but what time of day were those pictures taken? In the morning you are going to have more swelling (and that could make it look worse in photos)

And yes, I agree with what Mr Z said for side sleepers. So I guess your nose appears to be leaning left, do you sleep on your left side?

Unfortunately the right side nasal deviation has not been corrected by the surgery. Although the open approach is a good way to address the deformity the distal one terce of the nose continue presenting the preoperative deviation.
It is secondary that the nasal septum is not in the midline. The nose will need revision surgery.
