Hi,

I need some help with finding a lipo specialist. I am in my early 30s, 5'5", 120lbs, healthy, generally fit, and I want to get my abdomen and love handles done - should be about 1-1.5 liters, fairly easy and straightforward.

I live in New York City, and, obviously there are thousands of qualified docs, and even hundreds of well-regarded ones. However, I take my body seriously, and, naturally, want to find the best plastic surgeon I can.

My strategy was to go through the various forums as well as Top Doctors lists and the like, pick about 10 people, and visit them for a consultation, to see if I like what I hear/see. However, 7 of those offices want to charge me a $150-280 fee for a consultation. While I understand that charging a consultation fee is not uncommon, I don't want to spend $1500 just to meet a few different doctors.

Can someone recommend a better approach to finding a surgeon who is a good fit? Personal experiences/doc recommendations are also welcome.
