| Does Laser Treatment For Stretch Marks Work? Is laser treatment for stretch marks a good idea or is it a scam? I need to do something about the stretch marks on my butt. I replied on my other post on here and appreciate the input but I don't know if this alpha hydroxy acid that was recommended will be strong enough.
How much does it cost to laser stretch marks off and how effective is it? |

| Thanks for bring this up and reminding me this is something I need to research for myself I have some minor stretch marks on my rear and haven't tried to do anything about them, but I should. Laser treatment for stretch marks sounds enticing, but if it works I feel I would of heard more about it. They promote cosmetic lasers for everything from A to Z but very few of their applications are truly effective. |

| Fractional lasers work by causing skin remodeling in scar tissue and regeneration of healthier tissue. That said, you can't eliminate scars or stretch marks, just make them smaller, flatter and less apparent. Out of all the other treatments, fractional lasers seem to be the best for this. |

| Yes, but pricey. I'm sure surgery works, but it's probably the most expensive way to go. I had success with Excel Skin Care's all purpose cream, very good product. Use it twice a day as follows and be consistent. Don't skip days. They just upped the size to 1.7 oz, so You can find them on Amazon with the key words "Stretch Marks Excel". The best prices are on there. |

| I've read that even laser treatment cannot erase stretch marks. This is because stretch marks represent a permanent change in the dermis and resurfacing can hardly erase them. While this is true, studies also show that laser treatment can at least improve the appearance of stretch marks for up to 20 - 50 percent. |

| As others have said, the goal would have to be reducing their appearance, not eliminating. That said, a good practitioner with some of the newer equipment and techniques should be able to make a huge difference for you. You shouldn't wonder whether it worked - it should be obvious and you should be quite happy with the results - that's how far the technology has come in the past 5 years.
