I've been following Evolence and I do not think it will prove to be popular. Since the active ingredient is derived from an animal, there are risks of reaction to the collagen (approximately 3% from what I recall) which is relatively high. That's 1 in 30 patients. That in addition to individual testing on the patient before they use the product is not appealing. I think what we'll see is Juvederm Ultra Plus and Perlane, the two longer-lasting hyaluronic acid injectable fillers, maintaining their lions shares of the market. Even a plastic surgery forum such as this reiterates these as being favorites among the fillers. The only thing I see knocking them off the top is another hyaluronic acid based filler which lasts longer than 6 to 9 months.
