Hi, I am looking into getting a revision rhinoplasty. It is very difficult to find because you must be not only an excellent surgeon but a truly gifted ARTIST! I think I have narrowed it down to two doctors. I am looking into Dr. Sam Risk (in New York) or Dr. Anil Shah (Chicago). Since I live in Chicago it would be so much easier to see Dr. Shah. I just LOVE the aesthetics of Dr. Risk. I am not conservative and am looking for a thin, refined, and classic nose that looks "undone." I had a consultation with Dr. Shah last week and he spent so much time with me. The morph he did of me I really liked. I told him that I am not conservative and I believe he understood my aesthetics. As for Dr. Risk... they just called me today saying that they received my pictures and letter and the doctor needs to look them over. They will get back with me regarding price....etc.... The reason why I am so cautious is because this will be my fourth surgery and I want to know the FACTS! My second doctor landed himself in jail. I am older and wiser and am doing my research. So... for any of you who have had experience with either Dr. Risk or Dr. Shah let me hear your story. I would greatly appreciate it! Also, if any one of you can offer advice I would love to hear it. Hi, I'm new to the East coast (Baltimore/Philly) area....do you know of a good rhino revision surgeon? I was a Dr. Shah pt. Now, I'm not trying to worry you... as you have experienced sometimes things just "don't work as expected". Hence, why I'm need someone to look at my case and tell me if a FULL revision will get me where I want to be.
Dr. Shah did a great job on my friend, who had a closed rhino. Excellent results. So I felt confident...I didn't have a "problem nose" by any means. Actually it was "cute", but I wanted the more streamlined , sleek look. Well now it's crooked (headshot view). My nose was always straight from the front w/ a slight bump in the profile. I like the work he did on the tip deprojection...I just want the bridge of my nose to sit straight on my face. We did a few in office "touch ups" (after me begging and begging that this was NOT normal) . The diamond blade "filing" did ZERO, and the in-office rebreak and reset did SOME but def not to the point that I am remotely pleased. My picture morphs certainly didn't include a now deviated looking septum. I'm afraid to have too much work done on it (hello...Michael Jackson!). It sounds simple enough, but apparently it's not!
Anyhow...good luck... I'm sure you'll make the right decision. As I said ....Dr. Shah did a great job on my friend's nose, but I think his was "simpler". While the changes I wanted were quite minute , there's still alot of detail work.
Let me know if you know of any Top East Coast Docs!!!
