anyone know the average amount your insurance will pay for rhinoplasty? i bet like none of the good surgeons are even in network so they pay like two bucks for it haha. wait, that's not funny... never mind, no haha.

there's no set number it all depends on your insurance and your state. they'll pay anywhere from thousands to a few hundred or even nothing. you can't just say one company pays so much because they all pay different depending on the state. like blue cross ohio would pay a different amount than blue cross california on rhinoplasty

All I know is those published prices I've seen on the net for the average cost of rhinoplasty surgery don't even seem realistic to the prices I've been quoted by doctors. Their prices aren't even close to the high end of average prices. Either I went to some overpriced doctors or those averages they say are outdated.

We are in a health care crisis even plastic surgery prices are increasing at double digit rates! lol just joking!

Unfortunately nowadays expect to pay a large majority of your rhinoplasty/septoplasty surgery even if it is entirely functional. This is further worsened by the fact that the surgeons that are qualified to perform the surgeries are few and far between so they will be even pricier. If you have a 100% functional rhinoplasty procedure, which means zero work being done on the tip, I would say on average expect to pay for anywhere from 40% to 90% out of pocket depending on your insurance provider and plan. Most rhinoplasty specialists only accept a PPO so it's a benefit if you have that structure of medical insurance.

Years ago my insurance paid a good chunk, something like 9,000 towards the surgeon fee. That insurance though was operated by a non-profit and now they outsourced it to Blue Cross. If I had it done now with Blue Cross I'm sure they would pay more like 900 instead of 9,000.
