how to negotiate price of plastic surgery?
is this even possible? ive heard of people talking down the price in small towns but it seems like if you go with "the hot doctor" they wont budge on price - cheapskates! i think plastic surgery should be no different than buying a car, after all they are charging us just as much! you should be able to negotiate the price especially since the fixed costs (anesthesia, o.r. etc) is pretty low and the surgeons fee is pretty much all profit in the surgeons pocket. i dont like that my doctor doesnt give me any kind of discount because i am a very loyal customer. just doesn't seem right.
even car dealers "throw in the floor mats for free" hehehehe :D

Negotiating the price of plastic surgery is like negotiating your taxes - just don't happen :p

That's not true actually. I've heard of people negotiating the price. Although that was in the suburbs I'm almost sure if you try to negotiate the price with the best plastic surgeons in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and other major cities that won't happen. They usually already have a waiting list months long so they have no incentive to budge on the price. When I heard people getting a discount it was because of a getting more than one procedure so the surgeon offered a break in price. The doctor will need to be getting either repeat business or doing more than one surgery at once usually to have any motive to come down on the price. Good luck!

Sweetie everything is negotiable :D
Why don't you ask? It never hurts to ask. What's the worst a plastic surgeon can say to you, NO?
Don't ask for a discount just ask for a price slightly less than whay they gave live you. Remember You don't get what you don't ask for.

This is especially true if you're getting a couple procedures that are related i.e. arm lift + lipo, rhinoplasty + chin implant, and so on. Usually then you are able to knock the price down.
Well honestly I don't get the whole fuss on why doctors can't be more generous. Unlike a car dealer that has a fixed price they bought it for the so-called doctor's fee or surgery fee is all profit. For them to say they can't budge on price is gibberish! In small towns I'm sure they will but I just don't know who these plastic surgeon think they are in the big city that feel they're too good be good to a loyal customer!
