| WARNING - Unethical Plastic Surgeon Practices Financial greed can lead to plastic surgeons performing unethical marketing. Below is an email this site received on April 28, 2010 soliciting us to interact with visitors to ultimately get them to commit to a consultation. Quote:
Good day,
Not sure of the best way to approach plastic surgeons, but I own a company that can add tremendous value. We have the technology and staff to monitor the websites of plastic surgeons, engage with the anonymous web visitor, help answer questions, and ultimately get them to commit to a consultation with the surgeon....

| Disturbing and disgusting.
This is what I am trying to avoid. I will reveal my opinions as an insider if a forum member asks about a particular surgeon. On the other hand, I usually PM recommendations as to not promote anyone, as I have no personal or professional agenda. If I have had procedures conducted by the surgeon, I will reveal the aforementioned as well, so the recipient of said info knows why I am stating what I state, from a first person point of view. As an insider both personally and professionally to the plastic surgery realm I understand how difficult it can be to get an honest opinion, to deal with a surgeon with no agenda, as well as to get truthful reviews.
That is why I support and revere this site. Anyone who is secretly (or shamelessly) promoting will not be permitted to do so. Surgeons and their entourage who attempt to go under to go under the radar will not be permitted to do so as well.
All of the other sites have sold out. This site thrives as there is no agenda, and there should be none. Not now. Not ever.

As the owner of this forum already knows, I am so happy he created this site that's different! |

Not ever. | First of all, I can understand and appreciate your concerns about plastic surgeons and the ethical values some may or may not have. However, the company listed above, and companies like the one listed above, are VERY ethical and honest. You seem to be strongly opinionated about something you don't even understand! I have a similiar service on my website. All it is, is a "chat" service, or web greeter for your company's website. It's just like a secretary is to your office phone, this is a person chatting on your website to clients that want information about your services. They are not trying to scam people into something they didn't sign up for. It's simply a "convenience tool" for both the business owner and client. It's no different than when a person calls in to a business, and the secretary representing the business answers the call and gets the information they desire. A lot of companies are manning their websites with a live person ready to chat with potential consumers in this era of technology. It's odd that you find this so offensive, I think you don't like how the wording was for "getting the client to commit to an appointment?" This service is a great concept. In this industry, it provides clients with the assurance of privacy since a phone call may be overheard from an outside party about something so personal, etc..., also some may be researching websites after regular business hours, this is a convenient way to get information from a "live chat secretary" even though the office may be closed, but your website is always available. It has been a blessing to my business and my customers like the option to chat rather than call. It's just an option for people to communicate, nothing more! Chat Taxi and companies like it, are very ethical! Please try to understand a service before you blast it! |
