why are facelifts so expensive? the average cost is something like $20k i read. i don't get it  |
Well dear, only full facelifts which include blepharoplasty aka eyelift cost that much and that's a pretty lengthy procedure anywhere from 4 to 5 hours which I'm sure is a main factor. |
Less Expensive in Spain I have just had a full face lift done in Spain and it only cost me 8,500 euros (approximately 10,800 dollars). This was for the S-Lift, liposuction on my neck, eye-lift, and laser treatment of fine lines and blemishes. |
It is not that much expensive. You will have to search a bit more and you will find a less expensive solution. . |
I had surgery 6 weeks ago. I am 6 weeks post facelift, upper eyelid blepharoplasty, neck lipo and fat transfers to nasolabial folds, under eye hollows and lips. I live in South Africa and it cost me R35,000 which is approximately 3,752.35 USD or 2,590.88 GBP. Its so expensive overseas I never would have been able to afford it. I started posting pics of my facelift on my lipo blog so your can see some of my results. Will keep updating as I only started posting yesterday. Pics here Plastic Surgery : My Story |
You should go to a good surgeon and ask him about the perfect one for you. |
Facelifts are expensive, because good surgeons can charge a lot of money. I'm having a facelift and eyelid surgery in two months and it's US$28,000 total cost. Yes, I could have saved an average of $7,000 by going to any other surgeons....but this person is cutting into my FACE - I want the best possible for that! |
$28k? I hope it's a good surgeon for that much! I've realized the reason the price is so much is because a full facelift can be pretty much an all-day operation for the surgeon and take 6 to 8 hours. I don't understand why it takes so long but I suppose with the full ones they involve a lot of nips and tucks all over the place since they are not just targeting one area. |

The procedure does take a long time. An average of 6 hours and so the surgeon doesn't operate on anybody else on the same day. The reason it takes so long, is that doing a facelift is a real skill.....and every stitch the surgeon takes, should be a work of art. You can definitely get cheaper face-lifts, especially if you go overseas....but honestly, why not save up a bit more money and wait another couple of years and get somebody really expert to operate on you. It's your face - not something that can be hidden away if anything goes wrong! |
The whole plastic surgery game is lightweigh floppin. Simply because it allows for doctors to manipulate the prices of their procedures to make them doable for their clients. However, the reality is, the less money you pay the more risk you are susceptable to. So whatcha gonna do? |
