I have still not gotten a face lift but instead I have been doing for yearsss a set of facial exercises that for me seems to get better results in SOME ways than what I see a face lift do. I wanted to share this with you.
Ok so, first off, a face lift makes the face tight by pulling the skin tight in a sideways (more or less) manner. So while gravity has pulled the skin down, surgeons do a sideways pull. So while fat loss in someone's face has occurred with age deflating the volume and projection the skin, surgeons pull sideways.
Well now think about it, just how you can tone up your body and flabby parts can be whipped into shape, so can your face to some degree. Our face has a LOT of muscles which connect to our skin and help prop it up to a large degree. Also these muscles can get bigger just as muscles on the rest of our body can. Because of this, I decided to do "facial exercises" and to my surprise, I got even BETTER results than I would have expected.
All I use as a tool is this mouth guard thing I got from Rite Aid to use to prop my mouth slightly open (4 or 5mm) and give it leverage; the mouth guard is slightly flexible so it doesn't injure your teeth. These exercises don't take more than approximately 5 minutes all together. I do about 4 sets of about a minute each. I put in my mouth guard and bite down very hard which builds my mandible (jaw) muscle. This bulges your jaw line outward giving your jaw line projection and jaw-neck definition while pulling your skin a bit tighter in the area as it has more volume. You can stay clamped down for a while and then also alternate between biting and not, much like you would do any muscle exercises; think of how sometimes you hold a position or a weight and other times you might move it. At the same time I do this, I smile as huge as I can using every cheek muscle I can. When doing this and holding the position, you should definitely feel the muscles in your face working and even get sore, JUST LIKE when you work out your body muscles. Once again, this makes these muscles bigger and this increase in volume shows as the skin is more filled out in a NON pulled way! It increases volume and projection instead of a non natural pull. ALSO the muscles being exercises get propped up and they are attached to the skin on your face so it gets propped up too; this is very organic as it firms and lifts.
While this all may seem too good to be true, sometimes our own body offers better results than what surgery can do. If you can tone and exercise your body, of course you can do it for your face. And I'm telling you, it works great for me. Does anyone else do this too?
