I am not sure exactly where to post the following general question;

Since this is a plastic surgery forum I am hoping someone on here may know the answer to this or they can perhaps direct me to a forum that would.
With all the advances in the field of anti-aging how close would you say we are to finding a technique or product (whether it be surgical or not) that can make a 60 year old look like a 30 year old once again?? Do you predict we will have such a thing within the next 5-10 years from now??
Or perhaps the technology is already here??
I would like to think that even though I am 41 years old that I will live to see a time when the physical signs of aging is just a thing of the past and that aging will no longer be associated with wrinkling and looking old.

That's a great question! Unfortunately I don't think we will ever have a true fountain of youth.

All we can do today is pull, tighten, fill up, and cover up the signs of aging We still don't know what causes aging or how to stop it. So I don't think there will be any revelations in the next 5 or 10 years, but on a more positive note, I bet there will be better ways to pull, tighten, fill up, and cover up in a decade

Well, I suppose any improvement is something I/we should be appreciative for.
It is just so surprising to think that with all the advancements in science that they still do not know what causes aging.
Throughout the years I thought I heard of some promising research in different areas. One of them being gene therapy (I believe??) perhaps nothing has come from that or maybe it is still in the pipelines and yet to be seen.
Well, if they have not figured it out in the next 5-10 years from now perhaps we can shoot for the next 10-20.
I guess in the end..one can really only hope.

Actually,in Asia and in Europe they have for quite some time now been doing Adult Stem Cell Facelifts. We dont do it here yet & probably wont for another 10 or so years. The closest thing we do is fat grafting which is where they lipo an area of fat from one area of your body and re-inject it into your face. And NO it doesnt last! But if done in one of the other Countries I mentioned with their technique and the use of our actual "live" adult stem cells,if done by the right doctor (research) it will last forever,though you will continue to age normally (only you get to start aging normally with your young face again) Now if you already have sagging skin,I would suggest getting a facelift (old fashioned way) 1st,then proceding with the stem cells. They can fix damaged hearts,get rid of cancer,ect,with this technique. Just Google it,good luck with your research! girlygirl880

Wow...that sounds soooo interesting! Thanks so much for telling me about that!!
I am going to research that.
Perhaps that is exactly the type of thing that I was hoping would come about. I believe I have heard of stem cell research. I did not realize the wonderful results that they are finding...and it is so wonderful to think that this may be available in the US in the next 10 or so years!
It would be so wonderful for a 30 year old to always look like a 30 year old even when they are 70!!
I wonder if it may even allow people to get their young face back as well??
This way even if a person is 50 when they finally have this available for use in the US they can get to look like they are 30 years old again even though they continue to age!!
Well, even if this particular thing would not be able to do that much I am sure it would just be a matter of time before they would find something else that would.
