Thread Lift Problems?
A surgeon in my area does these. I've heard good and not so good things about them, mostly from plastic surgeons who don't do them.
Has anyone had any experiences or problems with the thread lift? Or know of any one? I'm curious to hear the results and comments regarding this procedure.
I'm in my 40's and contemplating a full face and neck lift over the next few years with much trepidation. I want just a little tightening, nothing "major" though all surgery is major.
What I know is that the thread lift is less invasive, less expensive and has no down time. The only people I know who have had it done are friend's mothers. Good results, no complaints.
I'm leery. I just am but at the same time don't want a scar or complications of a full face and neck lift and recovery. :)
Thread lifts have decreased in popularity lately. They were very popular when they first came on the seen. Also known as the lunchtime lift.
I have seen some good results, but the improvement is much more subtle vs. a facelift. A facelift is a much more extreme measure, and we have all seen facelifts that make the individual look unfavorable (i.e.: surprised look, skin pulled too tight, etc.). If you do not need such an extreme procedure (not too much sagging or minimal ptosis (sagging due to weak muscles)), than perhaps the thread lift is for you.
Many spas offer this service, but beware. I would go with an accredited board certified surgeon.
Well I have heard that the results just don't last very long, and then there are those that have problems with the threads. I just tried searching for thread lift problems and looky here what I found...
Oh so scary!
Highly disturbing!
And I remember reading horror stories of the threads breaking or coming undone!
Thread lift problems or not... the whole idea of having threads under your skin gives me the willies!
