| Otoplasty Los Angeles - List of Best Surgeons? It's a difficult choice to make when you're considering otoplasty in Los Angeles. As the plastic surgery capital of the world, there are so many different surgeons here. You would think that would make it easier but it's actually the complete opposite. How do I know which ones are the best. In this city it's so hard to tell who's top and who's not because all of the doctors seem to specialize each in their own niches. I am having a difficult time finding ear pinning specialists in LA. Anyone have any suggestions? Orange County doctors would be ideal too because that is where I actually live. Thanks |

| I live in LA and that's a good question
I don't claim to be an expert by any means but one of the bad things I have seen in before and after otoplasty pictures is that the surgeons always seem to go overboard and make the ears sit too close too the head. The patients end up looking like aliens or something before of it
If you do end up getting the operation just really stress that you are not looking for a drastic change and only want the ears to stick out a little less and that doesn't mean you want them flat against the sides of your head lol |

| It cant be that hard of an operation can it? I don't think you necessarily have to find the "best" surgeon for it.
I should have gotten this done when I was younger I have really big ears. |

| Hey all! I am also interested in Otoplasty in LA and have been trying to find the right doc. I know it's a very tricky surgery and the "alien-look" is very common. I have been going through multiple websites/Doctors' before/after pictures. I'm just doing my research and might not even end up doing the procedure, but I think it's still good to know who to go to if I do decide to do it.
The 1st patient of the doctor below looks like she made a good recovery, could it be because she is younger than the others? Facial Surgery Ear Surgery Before & After Photos
Anyone have any other Dr.'s they can recommend in the LA area or even CA for Otoplasty? TIA |

| lenovo,
Do not just go by what you see on PS websites. True former patients as well as consults will give you a clearer picture as to a surgeon's abilities as well as his or her limitations.

| I am also looking for a good Otoplasty doctor in So Cal. It's so tough to find one? I haven't found any names on this forum except for Dr. Bermant (not in California), and Dr. Aboolian |

| Hi! If you're still around Tina, I'd be curious to know if you ended up finding a doctor here in Los Angeles. I am beginning the search...again, as it has turned out. I'm the cautionary tale that had too subtle a correction, and now they've come out again. They aren't nearly as bad as they originally were (I was a severe case), but I'm still not happy with them. I honestly wish they were overcorrected instead of facing doing it again. I really regret not putting more effort into the research & consult stage, but I was 18 and from a fairly rural area the first time around. I think the difficulty involved in getting a great result with this surgery is really underestimated because there's such a visible "improvement".
If anyone is still around here and interested, I'll be meeting with 3 surgeons in Los Angeles and 1 more (+1 already done) in Phoenix in the next few weeks. I've been looking at tons of pictures online prior to setting up the consults, and it amazes me how many hack jobs there are, especially from docs who specialize in body (not facial) procedures. Remember this is often what they consider their best work being showcased online, so if it's at all mediocre, don't bother! |

Compared to Rhinoplasty, Otoplasty seems rare. Quote:
