What would be the best age for ear pinning surgery? I have seen conflicting answers to this. One source I read said that it is <5 years old and then another PS resource said that there can be excellent results with ear pinning no matter what age the person is. Which source is right?

I am in my 20's would this be thought of as an OK age if it is not the best age to be for it?

5-6 years old is optimal.

I always say this, but otoplasty is a very tricky surgery. So many surgeons claim to be "experts" and the patients end up looking like aliens. Not a good look.

20 is late, but why not post some pics, so you can get opinions from the forum members?

OK I might post some pics but I would be super embarrassed if someone that knows me saw me posting on a plastic surgery forum about my ears.

Yes, ear pinning is unfortunately one of those things that is hard to do right after a certain age

I haven't seen many "natural" looking results when it's done on adults. If you're ears aren't that bad, I would leave them be. Would you rather have not-the-best ears or awful alien ears?

The operation is usually performed on children between the ages of 5 and 6; however, ear surgery for adults does occur........fat grafting

I had ear surgery almost two months ago and the scar is behind my ear close to my hairline. I'm sure the chemicals will get on the scar so that is why I am asking. Or if there is a way to do it or have it done that it won't get on the scar.miami scar treatment

Usually child age is better which is around five to six year old is better because at this age pinning can be performed easily on soft parts and you can get good results but as your age will increase parts will become more stiffer and your desired results will not be produced. So child age is better as I say.

However there is no such thing that you can get your ear pierced when you grow older... if you desire you certainly can
