Jaw reduction using Botox costs about $1200 to $1600 every three months depending on how strong the muscle is. Basically the botox is injected in to the muscles of the jaw causing them to diminish and hence the jaw looks smaller. It's very common with Asians women as they tend to have stronger square jaw lines. It's still rather new so not all the doctors are doing it yet plus most people in this country are asking for the opposite, a stronger looking jaw.

I know on women it might make sense but why would a guy want to make his jaw SMALLER? strong prominent jawbones are so sexy on men

QUESTION: I want to use botox to reduce my jaw size but I don't think I have much muscle there. Even when I clench a bite my jaw muscles don't pop out. On most people don't they pop out? Will this work on me you think?

I would advise against using botox for that purpose.

I was recommended this but the one thing that has held be back is the cost. Botox is not cheap and for this they need to use a lot of it I hear plus you will need to keep going back to get it every few months and there is no way I can afford to pay like 2 thou a year to keep getting them done. Does anyone know any affordable way or if insurance will cover it if you truly have an overactive jaw muscle that is causing pain, TMJ and other problems like that?

Also, in most cases, Botox will not alleviate any pain. In fact, some people have reported increased levels of pain following injectable relief for TMJ, as it can aggravate the condition, based upon how bad the existing condition is.
