The reading I did says that cleft chins are a dominate trait in humans. You would need to have two recessive genes not to end up with one. Many people have a cleft its just very small and not noticable. Maybe you are confusing cleft chin with cleft pallet which is definetly a birth defect?
Yeah I know I was just poking fun at that other dude calling it a birth defect. Are you sure it's dominate though? Because basically what a cleft chin is, is when the bones don't fuse together entirely in the chin entirely.
I wish the cleft in my chin was deeper...I have one but you can't really see it...the rest of my family members (except for dad) have it and their clefts are pretty deep compared to mine, and I love the look of it too...but I don't need chin implants so...guess I'm stuck with my present chin
Well obviously they exist because Michael Jackson had a cleft chin implant for sure. Have you seen this is it? It is so apparent in the movie it's not even funny. I don't know why he did that but I do think he got it made smaller in the 90's because for a while his implant was more extreme than it is now.
