Hey guys,
I had a sliding genioplasty (5 millimeters forward) along with my 3ed rhinoplasty and deviated septum done 2 months ago. Even though I am still pretty swollen and stiff, I am pretty much happy with the nose job so far.
However, my chin is a disaster. Even though, I like the projection and all, I have some tissue handing down my chin at the end, especially when I smile, it gets even more prominent. My chin looks long, even though we only changed the projection, not the length. My lower lip is smaller than before, and I cannot see my lower teeth when I smile now. From the front seems like now I have no bottom teeth...

((
My doctor says that it's the muscles, they need to relax and the tissue that hangs will come up... I see improvements little by little, but it's not even near how I expected it to look. I only wanted to change projection and more my chin forward, not down. I have not seen this happen to anyone before after this surgery. Most of the people look good 6 weeks post.op.
Any ideas on this? Is there any chance it will stay permanent?
PS. I had a small artificial bone put under my lower lip to make the chin profile conture look more smooth.
