If you already have a date set, I would suggest you consider waiting until after the wedding. There is always a chance of complications, and even a few months out your nose is likely to remain somewhat swollen. Plus, even at that point you will likely still be worried about bumping or jarring your nose.

Just my two cents. I've had both rhinoplasty and chin implant and everything went very well. However, I would not have wanted to be in a major social situation or party a few months post-op.

Thanks Jon We were eyeing March, but do not have it set yet and I can push it back if I need to...I just need to figure it out soon either way. I understand that final results can take abou a year to appear and don't anticipate them to appear by the wedding, but I do anticipate (er, hope!!) that even whatever it IS will be some improvement than now...am I wrong? How long would you recommend spacing between the surgery and big day?

It's been many years since my primary. If I recall correctly, I was out and about at about six months or so. However, everyone heals differently. A friend of mine had her nose done and was out at a party that same month.

If there's no rush, I would either have the wedding before the surgery or have the surgery before making concrete plans for the wedding. Chances are you'll be fine in just a few months, but you never know for sure.

Jon, what did you have done with your rhinoplasty? Did you have any tip work done?

I suppose if I was in your shoes Feretti, I would lean towards getting the surgery first, only because of all the wedding pictures. I would probably prefer looking at the upgraded model of myself because wedding pics are usually kept out in view and viewed often, but that's just how I feel about it.

I can't remember exactly. Sorry. I know for sure that it was a closed procedure and that an alar base reduction and bridge narrowing were performed.

To clarify - I stayed in for the better part of six months primarily because I was worried about bumping my nose. If I remember correctly, I was pretty well healed up after about a month or six weeks.

AverageGuy- Call me vain, but I def aree about the pictures!! Assuming all goes well, of course... The only issue is apparently weddings must be booked like 6 months in advance, so I would have that deadline and hope that the surgery in the interim goes well and looks nice. If it comes out looking bad though, I will have a whole new set of anxieties about the wedding!!

Jon- Even though you avoided situations for 6 months out of fear of bumping your nose, would you have looked decent enough for photos about 3 months out?

Yeah I suppose everything has a risk and you could probably drive yourself crazy on deciding what to do first, marriage or surgery.. but whatever you choose I wish the best for you and your fiancee..

Yeah I'll post some pics.. I just booked my surgery for February and have my appointment for my preop at the end of January so it's good to be making some progress..

So you still plan on getting your surgery in November ? Maybe you can post your pics also.

Have you been able to find some good Chin implant reviews.. This surgery is def less popular than rhinoplasty.. well I think Rhino is one of the top performed procedures anyhow..
