| Microdermabrasion Los Angeles *WARNING!* WARNING: If you live in Los Angeles and are considering microdermabrasion or for that matter any other plastic surgery procedures there is something you definitely need to know!
First of all I am a native of LA born and and raised and let me tell you there is a lot of deceptive marketing going on in this industry. A lot of doctors will upsell you on microdermabrasion by making outrageous promises of results and then when it doesn't work they try and say it's because you need to buy even more treatments from them. Just like a chemical peel, you need to be careful because it's not good to have a ton of these done. With a peel you can start looking waxy if you get too strong of one or too many. I'm not sure if microdermabrasion is the same but either way I would be careful because it is a known fact you can't overdo those.
if you're going to get this done I would actually shop around all of Southern California rather than just Los Angeles because you may be able to find a cheaper price. When it comes to this procedure there's no reason you need to be paying some expensive Beverly Hills plastic surgeon or dermatologists to do it when there are plenty in the valley and elsewhere that will do the exact same thing for a third of the price. So it's really important to shop around. Microdermabrasion is a huge cash cow and they really like to milk it for all its worth so be careful! |

| Do you know if microdermabrasion helps with acne? I have a bad case of it and would love to find a natural way to treat it instead of using dangerous drugs. |

| I have heard that microdermabrasion isn't in vogue right now because lasers do a better job. My dermatologist in Burbank doesn't even advertise this anymore. |

In some cases, microdermabrasion is pushed, but is actually the inappropriate choice, compared to lasers. Lasers can be safer. Microdermabrasion was more popular in the past.

| I think a lot of it has to do with how expensive the lasers are for doctors to buy. Some are hundreds of thousands and understandly so their practices can't afford to buy them, so they push the alternatives they're capable of - like microdermabrasion. |

| True about the laser cost, but if someone has a really bad acne condition (i.e.: severe acne vulgaris) microdermabrasion might be the way to go.

| I live around Los Angeles and want to get either microdermabrasion or laser. My skin has aged a lot the past decade and I think it has to do with the pollution in this city.
Which one is better to give me a younger more refreshed looked?
I don't have deep wrinkles but I do want to get rid of my fine lines and age spots. |

| Personally, I'd go with laser.
