If it a basic peel, sometimes that is not the same as a full chemical peel. Inquire with your surgeon.
Chemical peels can be used for stretch marks removal. The major issue is harsh chemicals are used, therefore, a prolonged skin care regimen will be required before and after the treatment. Results are not as good, nor long lasting as laser treatment.
I would consult with the surgeon, and ask him or her if they have performed chem peels for stretch marks in the past. If the answer is no, go elsewhere. Also, if no before and after photos can be displayed go somewhere else.
Try to discuss this with others who have treated their stretch marks with peels as well, preferably, in person.
