Smile Cheek Implant Questions for people who've had them

Hey everyone! I've been thinking about cheek augmentation but I'm still researching. I'm a young female that has been thinking about this for a while and want to be as knowledgeable as possible about it. The problem is I don't know anyone that has hard cheek implants and I don't know where to find people (what brought me here!). Just wondering if anyone here had cheek implants themselves and if they did could give me advice.

I'm thankful for anything you can tell me. Here are my questions, any you can answer will be so helpful thank you!

-Why did you decide to get cheek augmentation?
-What type implant did you get and what brand is best?
-How was the swelling post-op, will I look like a freak for very long?
-Do you like the results?

If I go through with this I want the most natural results, period. Thanks again I've learned so much from this site already and am looking forward to your help!

Neva

Hey Neva,

"Why did you decide to get cheek augmentation?"
I decided to get cheek implants because as I aged I wanted my face to look more full as it did when I was younger

"What type implant did you get and what brand is best?"
I got hard silicone cheek implants, unsure of the brand. Don't confuse hard silicone with the dangers of liquid silicone. Hard silicone is basically the same as hard plastic so it's impossible for it to leak or anything.

How was the swelling post-op, will I look like a freak for very long?
All doctors will lie about how long your swollen after cosmetic surgery, not only with cheek implants but all surgeries. I was swollen for about 3 to 4 months. I would say a majority of the swelling was gone within 6 to 8 weeks.

Do you like the results?
Yes I love the results. They have a very high satisfaction rate I think I read like 96% or something. If I could warn and stress anything it is to NOT get too big of a size, which will make you look like a freak. Don't deviate too far from what you naturally have.

I'm not aware of the current rate of procedures but I know back in 2005 it was round 8,000 cheek implant surgeries in the US. Which when you think about it is an awful small number for such a great procedure.

I'm sure that number will begin to go up. Either that or one of these pharmaceutical companies will come out with a cheap injectable filler for doing cheeks. Right now it's just too expensive to use themr cheek implants.

Default hi everyone

Dear friends I m very new on this forum to hear your advices and share experiences with you too

I m a 30 years old ; cacusion , male

I have always had a hollow look since i have fine cheek grooves and nasobial folds so i have had fat transfer from my own fat to my face 3 time in a year time but unfortunately that is a temporary solution and cost a lot althought it gives a nice result

so i contacted to asian and westerner sergons regarding to the issue ; some of them suggest me to use only temporary fillers or fat while other suggest me permanent orbital rim implants as the best solution

so my mind is very confused and do not know which to go for and need your advices strongly ; please share your ideas with me

thanks in advance

Don't feel bad kilpak because I think more people have hollow eyes and dark circles than not. Orbital rim is definitely not a common procedure but I do know some cheek implants have a combination of both orbital rim and the cheek. You said you did fat transfers, have you thought about using an injectable filler like Juvederm? It will last much longer than a fat transfer and it's easier since you won't have to get fat taken from somewhere else first.
