![]() | Hey everyone! I've been thinking about cheek augmentation but I'm still researching. I'm a young female that has been thinking about this for a while and want to be as knowledgeable as possible about it. The problem is I don't know anyone that has hard cheek implants and I don't know where to find people (what brought me here!). Just wondering if anyone here had cheek implants themselves and if they did could give me advice. I'm thankful for anything you can tell me. Here are my questions, any you can answer will be so helpful thank you! -Why did you decide to get cheek augmentation? -What type implant did you get and what brand is best? -How was the swelling post-op, will I look like a freak for very long? -Do you like the results? If I go through with this I want the most natural results, period. Thanks again I've learned so much from this site already and am looking forward to your help! Neva |

![]() | Hey Neva, "Why did you decide to get cheek augmentation?" I decided to get cheek implants because as I aged I wanted my face to look more full as it did when I was younger "What type implant did you get and what brand is best?" I got hard silicone cheek implants, unsure of the brand. Don't confuse hard silicone with the dangers of liquid silicone. Hard silicone is basically the same as hard plastic so it's impossible for it to leak or anything. How was the swelling post-op, will I look like a freak for very long? All doctors will lie about how long your swollen after cosmetic surgery, not only with cheek implants but all surgeries. I was swollen for about 3 to 4 months. I would say a majority of the swelling was gone within 6 to 8 weeks. Do you like the results? Yes I love the results. They have a very high satisfaction rate I think I read like 96% or something. If I could warn and stress anything it is to NOT get too big of a size, which will make you look like a freak. Don't deviate too far from what you naturally have. |

![]() | I'm not aware of the current rate of procedures but I know back in 2005 it was round 8,000 cheek implant surgeries in the US. Which when you think about it is an awful small number for such a great procedure. |
