I have heard the same thing too about people that get cheek implants. They say you can always feel somethings there even years after the surgery. It doesn't really bother them b/c they get used to it over time but they told me you can definitely feel like something is pressing on your face all the time. I wonder how that compares to other implants like a chin implant and breast implants?

hi, how are you? i was just wondering how ur fave it now after the cheek implant removal? im about 7 wks into having just just done the op...i have no infection like you but i feel that my face isnt as flattering as it was before the surger....people are telling me to wait...but ill only wait till jan and then il prob get them out....how long were u swollen for after emoval? did u look the same as before after removal? i hope u can help, im feeling rather low atm about them....hope ur doing well...my other email is princess_jaazz@hotmail.com

Jas - it took more than 7 weeks for my swelling to go down when i had the implants put in. At 7 weeks I had a general idea of the results. My infected side was still quite large but I did have swelling at that point that went down more as weeks went by. I did not notice a lot of change from 2 months or so after the implants. Removal was much better and within a couple of weeks i was almost back to the "old" me. After a week and a half I was in public with no bruising from the removal. The removal went better than expected. I'll email you if you have questions - I am happy to help. I felt really down after I realized I did not like my implants. I am much happier now. Don't worry too much - removal is not as bad as getting implants put in and it solves the problem if you are unhappy with them.

A lot of people wind up with less than satisfactory results with cheek implants. As others have stated on this forum, most docs just make them too big! Did you get them removed due to the infection or just general unhappiness with the results? Would you do it again?

They were too big and one side ws quite different than the other - more than the infection caused. So in the end it was a combination of too big and uneven looks. I would consider it if it was much smaller but the whole ordeal has not made feel the need to go through another surgery for a while!

I can understand why you feel the way you do!

My sincere sympathies! As I stated prior, even the "expert" docs don't deliver. Your results would make ANYONE hesitant to get surgery again.

Thanks - I think these things can work out great for many people - I just want others to know that everybody does not have a procedure that they end up liking and it can be devastating.

thank-you for ur reply...yes i've been very up and down with my implants...im trying to see the positive but i dont think i like them...if u can send me pics id would much appreciate it...just wana knw if my face is normal?,...not many people knw i had the op...so they dont knw why im upset or kinda looking different...

If not many people know or can tell you have had the operation I would say that is a good sign right there!
