Default Cheek implants cause cheekbone loss?

I spoke with a plastic surgeon who said he doesn't like implants. He said it's been shown, for instance, that chin implants eventually wear down the bone under them, and he says it's the same for cheek implants.

Anyone hear about this before?

I certainly hope not. Did he say if this was for all types of implant materials or a specific type?

How would they wear down the bone? The implant isn't moving so I just don't get how it would wear down your bone?
