O.k. but the implants now you can get combination mid-face and cheek so how would that happen? you wouldn't lose much fat under the cheekbones because the mid-face implants would be there to prop it out. That's also why everyeone says to go with the smallest size implants and instead of the big ones. I think if you get the right size done by the right doctor implants are still way better than having to get injections twice a year for the rest of your life. Not only is that super expensive but also takes up a lot of time when you think about it.

People are saying now though that restylane and juvederm may have some lasting effect after a few injections... meaning at least some of it stays behind, so you may not have to get injections your whole life. Just giving credit where credit's due...

I don't think that has been proven yet has it? Show me hard research on that and then I'll think differently. We all know doctors say so many things about these injections and not know for sure themselves. plus if you're getting cheek implants using Restylane they're not going to feel or move like the bone would so I think even if we don't want to we need to go with the implant way and a no-go on the injections.

Consider me research as restylane and juvederm have had permanent lasting effects on me. It might be the scar tissue that has built up perhaps. Regardless I have gone over 2 years now without injecting my lips and the new contour of my cheeks doesn't ever seem like it would completely go away. Having said this, everyone is different.

do you guys think the reason plastic surgeons aren't very interested in the other injectable fillers that last a long time because they'd lose business if you don't have to get injections every 6 to 12 months? i'm no fan of artefill injectable filler but i wonder if some of the others that do last, if the reason the doctors aren't hyping them up a lot is because it would mean less return visits from patients. just my 2 cents

I think injections are better than permanent cheek implants.
Because if you don't like the results the injections' effect will eventually wear off
and you will return to normal.
But if you want to change your cheek's shape permanently, then you should go for cheek implants, it will be less expensive than injections which have to be taken every 6-8 months.
