| The cortisone might relieve some minor pain, but it is definitely not the long term solution. If you continue to feel a great deal of discomfort keep updating your surgeon. I would follow along with his suggestions, but it sounds like you might be right with your conclusions. He is attempting to string you along and "rectify" your issues with the least invasive procedures. Lots of docs do this, so you give up and they do not have to deal with issues they are responsible for. Keep on top of this, and keep your surgeon posted. Do not give up. |

| Well mike72, I read your update on page 3 and when I turned to page 4, I see Robyne hit the nail on the head This doctor appears to be weaseling his way out of doing a revision cheek implant surgery. I don't see how a cortisone shot is going to help with this. What was his excuse for the visual difference between the two implants and where they rest on your face? |

| He said aesthically the implants looked fine. He put on gloves and felt the inside of my mouth where the implants are. He said it feels and looks fine. I told him even though it looks fine on one side it feels like its bigger than the other and sticks out more, maybe this is the reason why i feel more resistance on my left side than my right and why I notice I have something in the left side of my cheek where as I dont on the other side. He said lets try a cortisone shot to minimize the pain and then come back in 2 months and try another cortisone shot and then go from there. |

| Yes, he is exhibiting job security on his part, as la_angel confirmed previously. Follow through with his recommendations,as I stated prior, but do not back down. Get your issues resolved. |

| Well that's just plain silly. His solution is a cortisone shot, and if that doesn't work, another cortisone shot 2 months later? It's not good for your skin and body to be injecting it with cortisone in a situation like this.
It sounds like you will need to be more firm with him. Perhaps even print off selected responses from this plastic surgery forum for him to see. Based on what you have told us, this is not something that will get better on its own. How long post-op are you again? |

| My op was excatly one year ago. It does seem pretty silly thinking that a cortisone would relieve the discomfort, I know it wouldn't, so far i've noticed no change, i'm pretty sure on my assumptions that the implant wasn't shaved down enough and it is a little too big thats why i get resistance on one side, he said come back in 8 weeks. |

| Don't give up! The surgeon needs to address the issue. Personally, I would not wait 8 weeks.
Stay vigilant! |

| Yes, after one year that is plain silly. These are cheek implants, not rhinoplasty for crying out loud
Please don't let him keep pushing you around like this. Be firm and tell him it needs to be corrected now. Say you are sick of suffering every day from it and the sooner it is corrected, the better. |

| I will indeed. When I see him in 7 weeks, I will let him know the cortisone shot did not help and I will be firm that it needs to be corrected in a polite but stirn manner. Thank you so much for your responses. I will keep you updated in a couple weeks. |

| If one implant is lower on one side and not the other, how can this guy argue that a cortisone shot will change that? |
