Have any of you seen the wiki entry for cheek implants/augmentation? It doesn't give much information at all. That's funny because the wiki site usually gives you a good deal of information.

Anywho what I wanted to know about from wiki was the nerve that runs by the zygomatic bone/cheekbone. A few months ago when I was looking these things up I saw somewhere that the implants rest right above the nerve. They said you always feel the cheek implants your entire life because of that nerve. Any truth to this?

Some people that get Gortex or Porex say they never feel them. Others have said they feel them, but only when concious of them, and not on an everyday basis. I know someone who got silicone screwed in cheek implants and she feels them all the time. She also looks the same (to me).

The zygomatic bone is the foundation of the cheek.

Be careful that the surgeon is not too aggressive in his or her approach. One issue is when surgeons use cheek implants that are too big. It happens way too often.

Wikipedia is a great site, but for plastic surgery, I've only seen very basic info on it.

I know a person who has silicone cheek implants, and she claims she is aware of them at all times. Whether that's true or just in her head, I don't know.

As a general rule of thumb, I constantly hear that bigger is not better when it comes to cheek implants
