Breast Reduction After Weight Loss? After you lose a lot of weight how should one go about getting a breast reduction? I have a lot of excess skin and my breasts are saggy and I want to get them fixed so I can have my self esteem back. What's the best way to go about this and how much is it going to run me? Thanks |
Yes unfortunately whenever you lose a lot of weight this usually happens. The one thing you don't hear about people like Jared the Subway guy is that he probably had an awful lot of cosmetic surgery to get his skin back to normal. And ever wonder why he always wear long sleeve shirts in the commercials? Hmmmm.... But the good news is that if you choose to get the surgeries you can look fabulous again. I had a friend that had a breast reduction after gastric bypass along with some other operations and she looks great now. |
You might also need a breast lift depending on how drastic a breast reduction you desire, from what it sounds like. For many, insurance is a big concern. If you are not within the appropriate range of normal weight (usually BMI, however some insurance companies have their own standards in addition), it might not be covered. |
I wouldn't count on insurance they don't pay diddly squat anymore. Did you know that in Los Angeles Blue Shield only pays $300 for reconstructive rhinoplasty out of network and something like $1400 in network? Good luck finding a doctor that will do it for that much! |
