Breast reduction during breast cancer surgery
 

My mother has just found out that she has a pea sized tumor on one breast and she was planning to have it removed. Her surgeon is pushing for her to have what we think is a double mastectomy, which he considers to be more like a breast reduction surgery. He's calling it a prophylactic (preventative) bilateral mastectomy with "tram stamp". This involves essentially taking skin and fat from the stomach (tummy tuck surgey) and transplanting it the breast area. Does anyone have any experience with this surgery? Such as complications from skin host rejection and loss of muscle control in the stomach area?
