Default question about stitches

this must sound like such a stupid question, but what is a "spitting stitch" exactly? i'm 9 days post-op today so when do i need to start keeping an eye out for getting one? right now i have a few stitches that are reddish in color so i'm just kinda worried about these. thanks!

Breast reduction spitting stitches are actually pretty common. This is just when the stitch pops out and works its way to the surface. It will look something like a soft piece of white rice. The problem comes if they get inflammed or if you get too many of them so the skin isn't held together the right way. Hope this helps.

Two and a half months post-op. On one hand, it sounds like a long time, on the other hand it doesn't seem long at all. About 3 - 4 weeks after surgery, I started to feel pretty good and begain doing a lot more.

At 8 weeks I was pretty much doing everything again. My incisions were completely closed and there was no sign of spitting stitches (yeah ).

At 10 weeks, I am amazed at how much I have healed and I am also amazed at how much healing remains. Even now my shape is still changing, though slowly. I still have some hard spots on the outsides and the girls are still a bit tender when pressure is applied.
