Does anyone know the answer to this question? Do silicone implants last longer than saline? And do they really only last for 10 years?

I just had silicon gel implants put in last Monday (June 26th) and I had that same thought, that they would have to be replaced every 10 years, and I didn't really like that idea considering I am only 31, that would mean quite a few surgerys for me. When I discussed this with my doctor she told me that as long as there is not a problem with the implant or anything then you can wear the same ones for as long as you like. She says she has a lady that has had the same implants in for 25 years now and still has no issues. I hope this helps.

In the title you made a typo and said 1 year I hope all of them last longer than that

Aren't there any safety risks with the material breaking down after that long? I don't think I've ever heard a doctor say 25 years is alright!

According to a well-known website that I went through just a week befor "There is medical reply on how long breast implants last because available clinical studies follow patients for just a few years. Both saline implants and silicone implants can develop small tears in their shells, causing ruptures. Implants also can cause scar tissue, which sometimes hardens and squeezes the implant, causing pain and deforming the breasts.
