How bad did you feel after having implants?

I'm just wondering how you feel following breast augmentation? Is the pain terrible? Would I still be able to lift my 7 month old daughter?

I have not had implants myself but I hear it's more of a discomfort (not agonizing pain). I would count on feeling miserable for a few days after surgery.Would you have anyone else around to help with your baby?

Julia

You will need help for 2 to 3 days. Its hard to get up from bed after surgery. You won't be able to open bottles or lift pans on the first few days so you'll need someone to help you with that too. The pain is not bad because you will be on pain medication. You will not be able to lift your baby for at least 14 days. You should be able to hold her on your lap without a problem after a few days but not to lift her.

I had help from 2 people. My aunt would bring me breakfast in the morning and she also opened all my water and juice bottles and get my snacks before leaving the house to go to work. I also had my boyfriend helping me in the afternoon. He would help me get up from bed, take showers, brush my hair, etc. I did not feel pain because I was on Vicodin but I was not feeling 100%.

Good Luck with your breast augmentation.

2 to 3 days???? Not on my watch! I was in massive pain (can't sit up,can't stay comfortable lying down) for almost a full week. I was on serious painkillers, and still was in pain.

You will definitely need help caring for your child. Do not even think about lifting him or her!

Oh Robyne that sounds just awful, I'm sorry! I have friends that described their experience as extreme discomfort (not an awful pain) but everyones body is different.

I guess the best advice would be to prepare for the worst (like Robyne's experience) and lifting the baby should be a no-no either way ;)

Massive pain from a breast aug? I'm sorry you were in so much pain after your breast aug.

I just had a tummy tuck, breast implants (under the muscle) and lipo done on my hips thighs 8 days ago. I was not in agonizing pain at all, in fact I was up and folding laundry on day 3. Now I am able to clean the house, go on short walks and pretty much everything except pick up somewhat heavy stuff or my daughter. My husband stayed home with me the day of surger, and the next day, atfter that he returned to work. So everyone is different. My advice to you is to just stay on top of the pain with the meds, take them before you are in terrible pain.

I had my Breast aug and rhinoplasty (nose job) done on wednesday morning (its now saturday afternoon) and I'm doing ok. It's just a lot of pressure on your chest and its hard to sit up and move around, lift things, take clothes on and off. I went from a 34 B to a small D. I don't have kids or pets or anything but my hubby had to leave on a business trip Thursday morning and didn't return home till Friday evening so I had to do a lot for myself on thursday and friday......but i survived! I would have to say the worst part about these procedures is having to sleep with my head elevated and on my back. My back is so sore! It feels good to finally be able walk around a bit and sit foward comfortably. Like the others said, keep up on your pain meds and sort of "chase" the pain rather than waiting to take meds after you're feeling bad and ICE ICE ICE!!. Goood luck!! :)

I was told not to lift anything over 5 lbs for a month! It was really difficult to follow that advice, but my boobs look great now and I'm glad I did. You will need someone to take care of you for a few days, and in this case, your daughter too. I my boobs were really tiny/firm before surgery so the doctor said mine would hurt more than usual because it has to stretch the skin. It hurt extremely bad, but in the end it was worth it. Plus pain medicine helps. I definitely don't think it hurts as bad as child birth would.

Messege me if you wanna know anything else! :)

Hi, I have had cheek implants and submuscular breast implants. The breast implants were a cake walk compared to the cheek implants. I did not need any pain killer at all after the BA ( took it at night to help sleep and to help me relax) I think it depends on the person, also the Dr. good luck it was worth it for me.
