loss of nipple sensation after surgery? i am 4 months post-op and have less feeling in my nipples. is this permanent or will it come back? |
Sorry to hear that Morgan. It should come back. I didn't have that complication with my breasts but rather with my chin surgery and had numbness under the lips for around 9 to 12 months and it finally came back. I was told because it was the nerves were stretched during surgery so they need time to go back to how they normally are. For breast augmentation only 7% have any permanent loss of nipple feeling from what I read. Hang in there you'll get better! |
Morgan the feeling should start returning at around 6 months and fully in about a year. Ask your doctor but more often than not I think the feeling comes back. Sorry to hear that you have to put up with it. |
thanks guys my doctor said the same thing. i'll cross my fingers and see. i guess it can only get better and not worse |
