Sounds promising! But I do agree with the concerns - that they haven't undergone "rigorous FDA scrutiny" and we would need to see how the hold up over time. From what I can tell it sounds like the reason this was FDA approved was just because there's a similar product on the market :confused: |
You are 100% correct, la_angel, however, I would be extremely cautious with this approach, as more people need to undergo the procedure and I'm sure alterations/modifications will have to be made as well. |
It's a tricky matter testing new products like this. It seems like, in order to really know what the risks are, someone (several 'someones' actually) has to step forward as a cosmetic Chuck Yeager and stand in a proverbial line of fire. I imagine that today's recipients of silicone breast implants, for example, owe at least a tip of the hat to those who went ahead and got them when it was still uncertain whether they caused health risks. |
