I'm new to this message board and am currently in the process of interviewing surgeons for implant replacement. I had my original surgery at the age of 24 in 1996 and have saline textured implants submuscular and filled to 280cc on one side and 260cc on the other. I am now a medium to full 34B, and am 5'2 and 103-105 lbs. After breastfeeding my son for 16 months about 5 years ago, I fell in love with my larger milk filled breasts and miss them! I have decided to have a replacement surgery to a larger size. I am also considering going from saline to silicone...I've seen one surgeon so far and after a very lengthy and informative consultation he suggested that I use two different brands and sized prefilled silicone implants in order to obtain the look and feel I desire. ...with 400cc on one side and 425 on the other. I have two more consults set up in the coming weeks and am just curious to know if any of you have done a saline to silicone replacement and if you are happy with your results?

I haven't heard of a surgeon recommending two different brands on the same person. Was this because they the 425cc wasn't made by the other manufacturer? (I know that's a very specific size so my guess is not everyone makes it.)

Cosmetically speaking, you will most likely be happy with the results as long as the surgery goes as planned. But I think the question should be asked is if silicone is really the route you want to go? Ever since being re-approved by the FDA a few years ago they have been all the rage, but they are still real dangers involved if they leak. Often times when the leak, the person is not even aware of it. Do you play sports or other strenuous activities that may make the saline breast implants more prone to leaking?

I agree with la_angel wholeheartedly.

I have never heard of using two different brands. Each manufacturer has different products, and using implants from two companies will produce varying results.

I would stick with the saline if I were you, as there are health risks, like la_angel mentioned.

I understand you liked your breasts when you were pregnant and postpregnancy, however, larger breasts will definitely not look natural on your frame. What type of look are you trying to achieve?
