Booked a date for mastopexy, but will be on my period? I have set a date for mastopexy, but I have realised that I will be on my period on that day. Will this be a problem? |
Personally, I would not want to have to deal with my period while enduring a mastopexy. I would reschedule for a date post menses, as swelling, bloating, and water weight gain might be an issue. Otherwise, as long as you can care for yourself, there should be no medical complications. |
I was not able to schedule another date which was suitable. I was wondering if the period might cause problems during the surgery? |
Unless you have PMDD, the only things I would worry about are swelling, bloating, and water weight gain. The aforementioned variables could alter your results slightly. Some docs would prefer you not on your period during PS. Speak to your doctor, as every case varies. |
Ok. I was just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation or had the same problem. I do gain slight weight, and my breasts become sensitive but do not change in size as such. I don't have PMDD. |
Don't worry. ppl get all kinds of surgery when they are sick and have problems,. When do we not have problems! I had my nose job wtih a bad cold and that didn't affect it. If they can do a nose job on someone with a cold then they can do anything. |

If the OP gets a mastopexy with excessive swelling and bloating, optimal results may not be achieved. Self care is another issue as well. |

My breasts don't become bigger during periods, but this is worrying. |
Well I guess the next best thing would be to ask your plastic surgeon and see what he says. Have you checked with him yet? |
Personally, I would change the date. |
