If he "trained" himself, he's pretty disciplined and talented. It's almost impossible, although it can be done. People actually went to specialized coaches for this type of thing. Used to be unpopular in NY City in the acting circuit in the 90's. I have heard of beauty pageant mothers discouraging their young girls from scowling, grimacing, or furrowing their brow in fear of wrinkles appearing. After punishing them (usually through deprivation or physical punishment) the kids would stop. Scary.
