Botox for young women?

Is it alright for young women to get botox?

I am only 24 but have crows feet on the sides of my eyes that were not there when I graduated from high school. I really feel like I am getting old now or at least starting to look it. Would it be crazy to do Botox for young people like me?

Do you smoke cigarettes? Do you or have you had a great amount of sun exposure? Exposure to ultraviolet light, UVA or UVB, from sunlight accounts for 90% of the symptoms of premature skin aging. Most of the photoaging effects occur by age 20. In general do you have an unhealthy lifestyle (i.e.: dehydration due to alcohol, lack of water intake, abusing one's body (intentionally or unintentionally), lack sleep, are under a great deal of stress, etc.? What do you attribute your crows feet to? I am asking these questions, as it is important to know why a 24 year old has crows feet.

I would not be against anyone making an intelligent decision to get any procedure, but you are very young for botox. Do you really need it? Why not post some pics so forum members can give you adequate feedback?

Remember it causes temporary paralysis, and you might not be able to make certain facial expressions if it is not done properly. Also remember, it is a temporary fix. You will have to maintain your look. ;)

I know botox is temporary and has side effects but are does it work any differently on young women?

I drink and smoke socially only. THe only time I get sun is in the summer at the lake. Nothing I'm doing is more than everyone else my age. I know it's young to get them but there are plenty of girls in there 20s that have them too. I will post a pic sometime this week. Thanks

Yes, posting a pic would help the members of the forum assess the situation in a concrete manner.

The reason why I asked you about your lifestyle habits it I want to know what YOU attribute the wrinkles to. Why do you think you have them?

I know many people who started with Botox at your age and even earlier. Many were not able to maintain the results due to financial difficulties. Some of the ones who could either got a plethora of other surgeries or went waaaay overboard with the Botox, as well as other injectables.

When you say you have crows feet right now, do you mean when a facial expression is made or when your face is at rest

It's not abnormal for some people to show crows feet when they are smiling at your age. I hope that's what you are talking about, because I would be surprised too if you already have them permanently showing on your face.

I agree with la_angel, however, some pics would help to assess the extent of the issue(s).

I have seen more people in their 20's come in for Botox (particularly with light skin). It is alright to start this young however I would advise to do the other things necessary for healthy skin to keep your lines and wrinkles down to a minimum.
