Botox for sweaty hands is dangerous?
 

I have bad hyperhidrosis and my doctor recommend botox for sweaty hands. At this point in time I’m willing to try almost anything short of cutting of my hands. The thing that worries me about botox is that it’s a toxin. I’m a big health fanatic, not someone that would ever touch botox normally. The thing is my sweaty hands are bad enough where I feel there’s no other choice. I have exhausted all other options including stimulation, roll-ons for sweaty palms and more.

I don’t want to do hyperhidrosis surg b/c my boyfriend had it done and it has destroyed is body almost. He now breaks out in hives whenever he eats hot food and starts suffocating. It’s a problem that wasn’t there until right after his surgery. Will the same thing happen when botox is used for sweaty hands? I’m not liking the idea of using Botox but if it is the only sweaty hands cure without an operation I might have to.

I hope you are working with a hand surgeon or someone who specializes in hyperhidrosis. Botox is a temporary fix, and mixed results have been reported. Some people say it has restored their confidence, while others feel it is not worth the trouble. Everyone is different. If I were you, I would try it.

Remember, you will have to get injections on a regular basis for optimal results as well.

I have hyperhidrosis but it has improved from when I was younger. Don't waste money on Drysol because it doesn't do anything. I haven't done the Botox for sweaty palms yet, but haven't ruled it out totally either. If you have a job with a lot of hand shaking you would have to fix the problem somehow.
