So how SHORT is the scar in short arm lift surgery? I wasn't ever really interested in an arm lift because the problem isn't too bad [yet] but mostly because I don't want some honking scars. With the short scar arm lift how long is the scar? Does it do just as good a job as regular arm lifts?

Any 411 on this would be amazing!

So that's where the cuts are made on a short scar arm lift.

Looks like with a short scar arm lift the incisions are made just near the armpit. This is really great I didn't know about it either and cuts there wouldnt be super visible.

Interesting. Anyone had this done? I wonder how the results are. It seems like with that method they would only be able to pull loose skin towards the armpit so I don't know how they would remove the extra skin from the circumference of the arm with this method.

I suppose if you only have moderate arm skin sagging it would be better do to this method of an armlift than cutting it all off and having a big long scar run up your arms.

This is a huge improvement over traditional armlifts which require an incision from the armpit to the elbow. The short incision arm lift aka mini armlift though seems to be pretty new in the last decade so we'll have to see how it holds up. I know one surgeon that said it was a "waste of time" as it would look good for a while then everything would just sag back down. Now if most surgeons said that I would just think it's because they don't know or don't like doing the procedure so they just want to trash talk it but not the case with this guy, he's actually a very well respected surgeon.

Friends of mine that have gotten arm lifts in the last few years have all gotten normal arm lifts. Some of them don't have a lot of money and some of them do so I'm guessing if at least one of them would have gotten the "mini arm lift" surgery if they thought it was the best, even if it did cost more. I do know not a whole lot of surgeons are doing it.

I know someone who had this done, and her arms look so fabulous and toned! And you would never guess in a hundred years that she had it done. Unfortunately I didn't know her before she had it done, so I don't know how they looked before but she had had lap band surgery and lost over a hundred pounds.

I am going in to have a consultation on this in November. There is no way I would get the other scar. I think it would be a worse trade especially since my scars don't heal invisible!
